Turtle United hosted the first-ever NFT auction IRL, in the Metaverse, and Online

Poland, Warsaw — Turtle United, an NFT project that is bridging the gap between Web2 & Web3 and making our planet a better place, minted its very first collection. The ultra-limited collection consists of 7 extremely-rare Turtles and 3 Legendary ones.

All 10 pieces completely sold out during a first-ever NFT auction which was held simultaneously in 3 separate spaces on the 29th of June 2022. There was a real-life event at an NFT Art Gallery in Warsaw, Poland; an online auction hosted by the OneBid platform, as well as in Metaverse Auction in Spatial, DiamondsCraft Auditorium.

The starting prices were set at relatively low levels of 0.3 ETH for the rare Turtles, and 0.5 ETH for the 3 Legendary pieces. The bidders, however, were extremely competitive, set the minimum overbid at 293% (3 times starting price), the average overbid at 500%, while the legendary Turtle del Giocondo was overbid by 1408% (sold for 7.07 ETH ($7822)). The IRL event, as well as the Metaverse one, was fully recorded and is available for viewing online.

Interestingly, only two pieces were sold during the real-life auction, whereas eight were sold to the metaverse and online bidders, which showcases both project’s and the market’s focus on online (web 2 and web 3) presence.

Importantly, 20% of the proceeds from the **Turtle United Auction Only** are also going to charitable causes selected by the Turtle United Community (just like all proceeding Turtle United collections). Moreover, during the auction, the project’s co-founder decided to donate 20% of the proceeds from the sale of Freedom Fighter (one of the auctioned NFTs) who is wearing a Ukrainian Soldier vest to an organization supporting peace in Ukraine.

Holders of Turtle United’s first collection will also be able to become a part of the project’s success 3 lucky ones will be raffled out to receive 1% of the secondary sales of the Genesis Collection which will be minting in July (exact date TBA). However, to be taken into account, owners need to hold their Turtles at least until the Genesis Collection’s mint.

In brief, Turtle United’s first NFT collection which was auctioned turned out to be an unquestionable success. The experiment of holding three simultaneous auctions was quite risky, yet turned into a great idea, for the prices of the pieces sold are very high, especially during the bear market for both crypto and NFT.

Turtle United Auction Only Collection marks a great beginning and bright future for a project with such a strong environmental and social mission. The project’s founders refer to it as a movement, the #TUMovement. This project’s future is definitely worth following, soon we will see where it takes its holders and early supporters.
