OpenSea Adds Support For Arbitrum Nova To Offer Low-Cost NFT Data

The leading market platform for digital assets and non-fungible tokens, OpenSea, has announced its successful integration with Arbitrum Nova, an Ethereum Layer 2 scaling protocol, to provide low-cost NFT data availability.

OpenSea And Arbitrum Nova Integration

In a January 9 blog post, OpenSea confirmed its integration with Ethereum Layer two scaling solution Arbitrum Nova to offer its users seamless and cost-effective data availability for digital assets.

Launched in August 2022, Arbitrum Nova is an entirely new chain built on Arbitrum’s AnyTrust technology, which is optimized for ultra-low-cost transactions with strong security guarantees.

Offchain Labs, the creator of the Arbitrum ecosystem, designed the Arbitrum Nova to serve as the premier solution for Web3 gaming and social applications. Nova allows developers to scale their projects seamlessly due to its lower transaction costs.

On the other hand, OpenSea is a revolutionary decentralized marketplace for buying and selling non-fungible tokens, offering a platform for thousands of creators, traders, and buyers to interact.

OpenSea Taps Nova To Offer Low-cost NFT Data

Under the new integration, the OpenSea NFT market platform will allow its users to access Nova as a more affordable alternative to Ethereum when buying and selling digital collectibles. Ethereum is the second seed blockchain behind the flagship crypto Bitcoin.

In September 2022, the OpenSea NFT marketplace announced support for Arbitrum One, an Ethereum Layer 2 scaling solution and sister protocol to Arbitrum Nova, to allow users to access digital collectibles from the chain of their choice.

Arbitrum Nova and Arbitrum One are now two blockchains suitable for projects with high transaction volumes and cost-sensitive requirements, such as games that frequently mint new items and currency or social projects with multiple on-chain interaction options.

In the meantime, OpenSea now becomes a member of the Data Availability Committee(DAC), a decentralized organization dedicated to helping the growth of the data infrastructure of Arbitrum. Other members include Google Cloud, Reddit, FTX, Consensys, P2P, and QuickNode.
